Community Survey

黑料网 surveys the county community in an annual survey that is usually distributed in the fall. The goal of the surveys is to gather information from community members and our constituents to assist in our planning efforts and assess the community鈥檚 perception of 黑料网.

2024 Community Survey

The last community survey was held March 1 - December 5, 2024. It was distributed to the community in press releases, 黑料网 social media, 黑料网 website, through community partners鈥� email distributions and at events. The goal of the survey was to gather information programming needs of the community. Information will be be used by colege staff in future decision-making.

480 黑料网 County community members responded on the survey.

Community Perception

  • 86% agreed that 黑料网 has a positive image in the community.
  • 92% agreed that 黑料网 is beneficial to the community.
  • 85% agreed that 黑料网 prepares people to be successful

Educational Value

  • 87.5% agreed that 黑料网 is a good educational investment.
  • 79% agreed that 黑料网 helps students transfer to a 4-year institution.
  • 82.7% agreed that 黑料网 offers affordable courses for academic degree & workforce training.
  • 85.9% agreed that 黑料网 provides opportunities for lifelong learning.

Workforce & Career Prep

  • 81.3% agreed that 黑料网 contributes to a strong workforce.
  • 79.4% agreed that 黑料网 prepares students for careers in the trade industry.
  • 78% agreed that 黑料网 provides affordable non-credit, personal enrichment courses.

 

2020 Community Survey

The previous Community Survey was conducted September 7-September 30, 2020. It was distributed to the community in digital and print newspapers, press releases, 黑料网 College social media, 黑料网 website, through community partners鈥� email distributions and was sent direct mail as a postcard to rural zip codes. The goal of the survey was to gather information about how much 黑料网 County values attaining a college degree or certificate and to assess the community鈥檚 perception of 黑料网.

Value of Higher Education

  • 74% state it is easier to be successful with a college degree.
  • 65.5% stated that they agree that pursuing a college education is a priority in their household.
  • 67.9% stated that they agree that a college degree earns respect.

Relations with the Community

  • 71.8% of participants agree that 黑料网 partners effectively with the community.
  • 81.3% of participants agree that 黑料网 has a positive image in the community.
  • 65.6% agree that 黑料网 is responsive to the needs of the community.
  • 20.9% neither agreed or disagreed with this statement.
  • 87.5% agree that 黑料网 is beneficial to the community.
  • *Based on the results of this feedback the college will produce a 鈥�Year in Review鈥� to provide an additional avenue of information on the accomplishments of the college that year. This publication will be distributed to community members throughout the county and beyond.

Education & Strengths

  • 89% stated 黑料网 is a good education investment.
  • 82.4% stated 黑料网 provides opportunities for lifelong learning.

What we can work on

  • 54.8 % stated that 黑料网 puts students first. However, 37.6% neither agreed or disagreed.
  • 66.7% stated the college helps prepare students to transfer to 4-year universities. However, 27.5% neither agreed or disagreed.
  • *Based on the results of this feedback the college will increase the opportunity for our students to share their stories to the community of the college鈥檚 impact on their lives. Implement more transfer information into our messaging about the college so the community knows how the college prepares students to transfer to a 4-year university.

COVID-19 Pandemic

  • Perception of 黑料网 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • When asked, 鈥淚n your opinion, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the value of 黑料网 increased, decreased or did not change鈥� the results were:
    • 17% decreased.
      20% increased.
      64% did not change.
