What to Expect:
- Theory and practical skills
- Hands-on experience through a combination of lectures, labs, and clinical assignments.
- Lectures are held on at the Downtown Center and labs are conducted on the Douglas, Sierra Vista, and Benson campuses.
- Students are scheduled for clinical experiences in hospitals and health agencies throughout ºÚÁÏÍø and Pima counties. Students must provide their own transportation to lectures, labs, and clinical.
The Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) degree is a post-licensure nursing program. This means that students must already be licensed as an RN to be accepted for admission and must maintain an active and unencumbered RN license throughout their enrollment in the program.


Nursing Associate of Applied Science Information
Accredited by both the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the Arizona State Board of Nursing (AZBN), the Nursing Associate of Applied Science program provides a comprehensive exploration of physical and psychosocial health issues throughout the lifespan. Key topics include stress responses, growth and development variations, and nursing interventions, with an emphasis on effective communication and the nursing process.
Admission requires completion of prerequisites, and coursework follows a specific sequence. Active participation in clinical rotations in various locations across ºÚÁÏÍø County and beyond, is mandatory for exposure to diverse healthcare settings. Clinical experiences focus on developing skills in assessment analysis, client specific care, discharge planning, community nursing, and leadership.

Apply to the Nursing Program
ºÚÁÏ꿉۪s nursing program is a competitive entry program. An acceptable score on TEAS Entrance Exam is required. Applications to the nursing program must be postmarked by the posted spring deadline. Students must obtain a fingerprint clearance card. Information about this can be found at . NCLEX must be passed after completion of courses in order to become a registered nurse.
First Time Students
Expand All +All Pre-Nursing Students are require to attend a Pre-Nursing advising meeting. Meetings are scheduled throughout the coming year.

Placement testing is required for English, Math, and Reading. Tests can be scheduled by visiting the college’s Testing webpage.
You must take the TEAS Entrance Exam (the TEAS cannot be taken more than twice per semester) the score you receive is valid for use for two years (the current school year and the following school year). The ºÚÁÏÍø Nursing Department reserves the right to require a minimum entrance score for admission to the nursing program.
When you are ready to send in your application, you must send the TEAS exam you wish to submit for consideration with your application.
You must receive a 66.1 or higher on your TEAS exam to be considered for the ºÚÁÏÍø College Nursing Program.
Send your Nursing Application (form A) with Waiver of Licensure (form B), a copy of AZDPS Finger Print Clearance Card, official transcripts from other colleges that have not already been submitted to ºÚÁÏÍø and a copy of the entrance exam required for the program you are applying.

Returning Students
